Viewing Images
Pacific Radiology has adopted native digital technology. This will allow us to move away from using plastic film, once patients and referrers become familiar with viewing images electronically. Filmless technology is better for the environment as there is no longer any need for processing chemicals that must be discharged into the sewerage system. Radiology has traditionally been a large consumer of plastic, paper and cardboard for the xrays, packets and reports. These will no longer be required. Postage and courier costs will also be reduced because the images and written reports will be distributed anywhere electronically.
A film-less service is very reliable and provides efficient access to your images and reports for your referrer and specialist, no matter where they are situated. Computerised viewing systems enable more accurate diagnosis by the radiologist, and avoid the problems of films and packets getting lost.
So long as your doctor, specialist or other health practitioners have been properly authorised and have the correct computer set up, they should be able to view all your Pacific Radiology images and reports.
In the meantime, and for anyone who still prefers it, we will be continuing to provide conventional xray film
